Box Office Report: Dhadak 2 Sees a Slow Start While Son of Sardaar 2 Has a Stronger Opening

Dhadak 2 and Son of Sardaar recently released on August 1, 2025. The two movies are having a friendly competition at the box office. Dhadak 2, which is receiving rave reviews, seems to be having a slow start at the box office. As per Sacnilk, it has only collected around Rs 3.35 crores on its first day in India. It had an overall 22.85 percent Hindi Occupancy. The morning shows were at 15.02 percent occupancy, while the afternoon shows saw a footfall of 22.29 percent. The evening and the night shows were filled at 22.03 percent and 32.07 percent respectively.

Lucknow saw the highest occupancy of 35.75 percent while Jaipur and Delhi saw occupancies of 35 percent and 32.50 percent respectively.

Triptii Dimri‘s highest grossing movie includes Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which collected over Rs 260.11 crores at the box office. The actress recently opened up on working in the movie and playing the role of Vidhi. She said, “For 30 years of my life, I have kept quiet about so many things. I never had the guts to tell people that it’s wrong. I told Shazia that I want to be like Vidhi; that by the end of this film, I should have the courage to speak my truth without being scared of anyone or the outcome. Now, I do stand up for the right things. This film made me open up a lot more.”

Dhadak 2 Box Office Report
Coming to Son of Sardaar 2, the movie earned around 6.75 crores at the Indian box office on its first day. As per Sacnilk’s data, the movie had an overall 22.56 percent Hindi occupancy. In the theatres playing the movie in Hindi, the morning shows saw a footfall of 10.24 percent, the afternoon shows were filled with 17.88 percent of people, the evening shows were at a capacity of 21.84 percent while the night shows were filled with 40.27 percent of audience. Lucknow saw the highest occupancy of 39 percent, followed by Jaipur with 38 percent and Chennai with 28.67 percent.

Ajay Devgn‘s highest grossing movies include Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, which collected a total of Rs 277.75 crores, Singham Again, which collected a total of Rs 247.86 crores and Drishyam 2, which collected a total of Rs 239.67 crores. Interestingly, Son of Sardaar is his 10th highest grossing movie, which collected a total of Rs 105.1 crores at the box office.
