Exclusive: Vikrant Massey on Comparisons With Shah Rukh Khan: “It’s Futile…”

Vikrant Massey recently won the National Film Award in the Best Actor category for his movie 12th Fail. Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan won the same award for his movie Jawan. The two actors seem to be in a tie and fans are nothing but elated about it. However, social media comparisons between Vikrant and Shah Rukh have been ongoing for some time, especially due to the celebs’ acting prowesses. While speaking to Filmfare about the same, some time back, Vikrant opened up about the comparisons.

Vikrant said, “It’s unfair. It’s unfair for him. I mean, he’s Shah Rukh Khan. Men like him and Amitabh Bachchan are legends. It’s really unfair for them to be compared to someone like me or anybody for that matter of fact. They’re once in a generation, once in a millennial kind of people.

He added that Shah Rukh Khan and his acting skills are one-of-a-kind. “There will never be any other Shah Rukh Khan. There will never be another Amitabh Bachchan. So, it’s futile. I laugh it off. I don’t even take it seriously. I wouldn’t want to use that word on air. But it’s futile. He is Shah Rukh Khan,” Vikrant further shared.

The 12th Fail actor recently made a statement after winning the esteemed award. Opening up about his dream coming true, Vikrant took the opportunity to thank director Vidhu Vinod Chopra and more. “I want to thank the Honourable Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the NFDC, and all the esteemed jury members of the 71st National Film Awards for considering my performance worthy of this recognition. I also want to thank Shri Vidhu Vinod Chopra ji for giving me this opportunity,” he noted.

On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan shared a video, thanking his directors, writers, family and fans for their support. “Namaskar and Aadab. Needless to say, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude, pride and humility. To be honoured with a National Award is a moment I will cherish for a lifetime. Thank you so much to the jury, the chairman and the I&B ministry and to everyone who thought I was worthy of this honour,” he said in the video.
