Kajol Talks About The Notion of Camps in Bollywood
Kajol is currently receiving love and appreciation for her latest film, Maa. The actress has been working in the industry for over 2 decades now and has given us several memorable and iconic roles. During a recent interview, she was asked about the notion of a camp existing in Bollywood.
Clearing the air around this, the actress explained that there weren’t camps but just friends working with certain people. Kajol said, “I don’t know whether there are camps anymore. There weren’t camps, just friends or certain people who have worked with certain people. More than camps, it was a comfort level of whom you’ve worked and not worked with. I didn’t have a camp; I worked with everybody. The camp system eluded me.”

On the work front, Kajol was most recently seen in Maa. Directed by Vishal Furia, it revolves around a mother who turns into goddess Kali to battle a demon’s curse. It also stars Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, Kherin Sharma and Jitin Gulati among others.
Filmfare’s review of Maa reads, “It falls to Kajol to hold the film together, and she does a great job of it. Watch it solely for her performance. She’s given her hundred per cent to the project and then some. But even her superlative acting can’t cover up the cracks of a badly written screenplay. The nonsensical plot puts her valiant effort into shade. It’s bold of her to choose a different genre. She’s done thrillers like Gupt or Dushman earlier but is mostly known for her rom coms. Horror definitely is a new thing for her and given the actor she is, she definitely will excel in this genre too.”
Kajol will next be seen in Sarzameen with Prithviraj Sukumaran and Ibrahim Ali Khan. She will also be starring in Maharagni: Queen of Queens.
