Tanvi The Great trailer: Shubhangi debuts in Anupam Kher’s film about hope and grit
Actor Shubhangi has made her film debut in actor-director Anupam Kher’s directorial ‘Tanvi The Great.’ She plays an autistic girl, determined to join the Indian Army in the upcoming film.
The trailer introduces Tanvi, a girl who is different but considers herself to be no less. The three-minute-four-second trailer shows Tanvi’s dynamics with her grandfather, played by Kher and mother portrayed by actor Pallavi Joshi. The promo depicts her determination to honour the legacy of her late father by joining the Indian Army.
Actor Arvind Swami also plays a crucial role in ‘Tanvi The Great’ as he trains Tanvi aka Shubhangi to become an army officer. The video ends with the protagonist climbing Mount Everest while a group of soldiers hoist the Indian tricolour at the mountain peak.

‘Tanvi The Great’ received a phenomenal reception at various film festivals, including Cannes Film Festival and New York Indian Film Festival. While speaking about the movie, Kher said, “Everyone who watches Tanvi The Great will walk away a little kinder perhaps even changed.”
He further said, “This film is my tribute to every person who is different but no less. It’s the story of an autistic, brilliant, and fiercely determined girl who dreams of joining the Indian Army. This is one of the most important films of my career, and I’m confident audiences in India will connect with it just as deeply as those around the world already have.”
The film also features Jackie Shroff, Boman Irani, Karan Tacker, Nasser and Iain Glen in crucial roles.The soundtrack has been composed by Oscar-winner MM Keeravani.
‘Tanvi The Great’ is produced by Anupam Kher Studios in association with NFDC. The global distribution is being handled by Excel Entertainment led by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar and AA Films, led by Anil Thadani.
The film is scheduled to release worldwide on July 18, 2025.
