Veteran Actor Achyut Potdar Passes Away at 91
Veteran actor Achyut Potdar has sadly passed away at the age of 91. He was admitted to Jupiter Hospital in Thane, where he took his last breath. Potdar was a part of many Bollywood movies and television shows. He was seen in 3 Idiots, Ardh Satya and Yeh Dillagi. Interestingly, he also starred in hit television shows, including Wagle Ki Duniya, Majha Hoshil Na, Mrs. Tendulkar, Bharat Ki Khoj and more.

Media reports do not state the cause of his death as yet. However, many reports suggest that he was hospitalised after facing severe health-related issues. The actor breathed his last on Monday and his final rites will take place today, on August 19, 2025, in Thane itself.
As the actor has been a part of many Marathi and Hindi projects, Marathi GEC television channels have paid their heartfelt tributes to him after his demise.
For those unaware, Potdar was never trained in acting. He started his journey as an actor at the age of 44. Reports suggest that he started acting without any formal training or workshops. He worked as a professor before in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. Achyut has also been a part of the Indian Army. He joined the Army through the Emergency Commision. He retired from the same in 1967 with the rank of a captain. He also worked at Indian Oil as an executive. After 25 years of service, he retired in 1992. However, being at the job also gave him the time to nurture his passion of acting and dramatics. He has worked in plays, theatres and other cultural activities while being a salaried employee.
He made his film debut with Aakrosh in 1980. After his demise, social media has also witnessed heartfelt condolence messages from his fans. We extend our condolences to his friends, family and fans at this difficult time.
