Jitendra Kumar and Ravi Kishan Join Mirzapur Cast As Shooting Begins Soon

After ruling the OTT space for quite some time, the Mirzapur universe is all set to get bigger and better. The much-loved series is now headed to the big screens and fans have already been keen on the news. To add to the excitement, there is an update on the cast that might fuel your anticipation.

The original cast members Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, and
Divyenndu are confirmed to reprise in their core characters as Guddu Pandit, Kaleen Bhaiya and Munna Tripathi. Shweta Tripathi is also expected to return as Golu, a character that gained her much admiration. Adding to the already powerful line-up there is an addition to the stellar cast. As per HT reports, we have Jitendra and Ravi Kishan joining the cast. The buzz around this report circulated when the two were spotted at the film’s mahurat Puja. The exact details of their characters and storyline are kept under wraps but the inclusion of the two actors in the movie has heightened the curiosity amongst fans.

The announcement of the popular web series getting a theatrical version of it was big news for the fans. It was announced by Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi and
Divyenndu in a video online.

In an earlier interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ali Fazal teased that the film would explore a different timeline. “We are very excited. It is the OG cast, and we are going at the back of the table. Back in time, I suppose. It has to be back in time because there are like some dead people walking,” he said.

When asked if it meant a prequel, Ali responded, “You will find out. But we are really excited to bring it to the theatres. Peaky Blinders also did that. It wasn’t like a one-off or an odd choice of move.”

Reportedly, the pre-production process is already in the works. Script reading, look tests, character preparations are all underway. Jitendra and Ravi
Kishan have joined in the pre-production too. The filming of the thriller is expected to begin next month. Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and created by Punnet Krishna, the film is slated for a theatrical release in 2026.
