This Independence Day, acclaimed sitar maestro Hidayat Husain Khan unveils his stirring rendition of Jai Hind, India on Times Music, coinciding with the unveiling of a commemorative stamp celebrating his musical journey. The track offers a soulful interpretation of Jana Gana Mana, performed on sitar and vocals by Hidayat Husain Khan, produced by Ayon Ghosh (Naad) with tabla by Avirodh Sharma and visuals by creative director and editor Hrishikesh Shah. The maestro comes from a lineage of seven generations of outstanding vocal and instrumental court musicians. Born to legendary sitarist Ustad Vilayat Khan, he started training since he was just four. Known for his versatility in blending classical and colloquial styles, he has performed globally with notable artists like Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, and Zakir Hussain. He has also performed at prestigious venues such as Royal Albert Hall and Carnegie Hall, showcasing his unique ‘Gayaki ang’ style that blends voice with the instrument.
