Was sobbing with gratitude: Sonu Nigam after Sidharth-Janhvi’s Pardesiya release
Sonu Nigam was left overwhelmed – and in tears – after seeing the wave of love for his latest song, ‘Pardesiya’, from the upcoming film ‘Param Sundari’. The romantic track, set against the scenic beauty of Kerala and featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, has been winning over audiences since its release.
“This romantic song is working very well. It’s the first time I’ve sung for Sidharth, and it’s suiting him so well. He’s looking so good in the song, and it feels like he’s actually singing. I’m really thankful to God for all the love,” Sonu said while speaking to Hindustan Times.
The singer admitted the reception hit him on an emotional level. “I was reading all the messages for ‘Pardesiya’ and I just broke down – literally sobbing with gratitude. I’ve seen so much love and respect. Sometimes things don’t work out, and sometimes the unexpected just clicks. All I take from this is to keep working hard – that’s when magic happens.”
Sidharth Malhotra echoed the sentiment, calling the song “a feeling that stays with you long after it ends” and praising the work of composer duo Sachin–Jigar and lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya.
Originally slated for a July release, ‘Param Sundari’ will now hit theatres on August 29, 2025. Directed by Tushar Jalota, the Maddock Films production is touted as “the biggest love story of the year,” charting a romance between a North Indian boy and a South Indian girl.
