Saiyaara Surpasses Chhaava to Become Bollywood’s Highest Overseas Grosser of 2025
Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara has rekindled the romance genre in cinemas and achieved huge success at the box office. Also, as reported by Sacnilk, the romantic drama featuring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda has reached another noteworthy achievement, crossing the international earnings of Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava within a span of just twelve days.
According to Sacnilk, within just 12 days of its release, Saiyaara has crossed the lifetime international collection of ₹91 crore achieved by Chhaava, which also featured Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna, by earning ₹94 crore overseas. This achievement has positioned the film as the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2025 in the international market. The international collections of other Bollywood films include Housefull 5 (₹70.25 crore), Sitaare Zameen Par (₹66.75 crore), and Murder Mubarak (₹54 crore).

The film has also surpassed the international collection of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s Thudarum, which earned ₹93.80 crore, hence securing the second position on the list of highest-grossing Indian films internationally, just after Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan, which earned ₹124.50 crore. This is indeed a huge achievement, particularly considering the film features a cast of newcomers.
Ahaan and Aneet are currently celebrating and soaking in the success of their recent romantic drama, Saiyaara. The film continues to perform well in theatres. With the release of Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 this Friday, August 1, it will be interesting to see if Saiyaara’s command at the box office will decrease a bit or if it will continue to attract audiences.
On the other hand, Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, remains the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025, having earned ₹807.88 crore worldwide at the box office. The film features Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb, and Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale.
