Singer Fazilpuria Escapes Gunfire Attack Near Gurugram

According to eyewitnesses, the attackers quickly fled the spot after firing multiple rounds at the car. Police officials have begun investigating the case and are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area to trace the culprits. Alongside that, evidence is being collected from the scene to determine what may have led to the attack. So far, no injuries have been reported.

Fazilpuria gained nationwide popularity with the 2014 song Ladki Beautiful Kar Gayi Chull, which was later featured in the 2016 movie Kapoor & Sons starring Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan. The song was produced by Badshah and became a massive hit. Some of his other well-known tracks include Jimmy Choo, Party and Millionaire. His stage name Fazilpuria comes from his native village Fazilpur near Gurugram.

Last year, the singer made headlines when the Enforcement Directorate in Lucknow seized assets worth over 58 lakh rupees belonging to him and YouTuber Elvish Yadav. The action was taken under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act in connection with a snake venom case registered by the Gautambuddhnagar police. According to ED officials, the seized properties included nearly three acres of land in Bijnor under Fazilpuria’s name, and bank accounts linked to both artistes and a private company producing their videos. Fazilpuria was questioned twice by the ED but failed to provide satisfactory answers. He was arrested on March 17 last year and placed in 14-day judicial custody, before being granted bail five days later.
