Exclusive: Kareena Kapoor Khan reveals why she is proud of herself

Kareena Kapoor Khan marks 25 years in Bollywood today. After making her debut in Refugee back in 2000, Kareena has never looked back and given us countless memorable films that we still fondly look back at and remember. On this memorable occasion, we look back at when Kareena spoke her heart out during an exclusive chat with Filmfare back in 2019, and revealed her proudest moment ever, amongst other things. 

Kareena opened up about the decisions that shaped her life and career. She remembered how many people advised her to not marry Saif Ali Khan at the peak of her career and warned her that her career might end. But Kareena proved them wrong. She said, “Some good films have come out after my marriage like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Ki & Ka, and Udta Punjab.” Marriage didn’t deter Kareena from choosing to do what she loves and the same reflected in her work post marriage. 

She had also called out the myth that marriage or motherhood changes how an actress is seen. “I don’t agree with the idea that if you’re married, you’re not going to look your best,” she said. Pointing out her proudest moment, she emphasized, “When it comes to motherhood, I think I’ve held my pregnancy with a lot of pride and dignity. That’s what I enjoyed to the fullest and I let everyone around me enjoy with me. So, I think that’s just the way I live my life, and I hold that with a lot of pride.” 

Today, as Bebo celebrates 25 years in the industry, she is now an example of how confidence, grace, and staying true to oneself can just be the simple mantra of having a good work-life balance.
