FWICE Demands Diljit Dosanjh’s Passport to Be Revoked Over Working With Hania Aamir

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has strongly objected to the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the upcoming Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3, starring Diljit Dosanjh. A day after the trailer dropped, FWICE issued a letter expressing deep outrage and demanding strict action from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and I&B Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
The organisation has accused the film’s team, which includes Diljit Dosanjh, producers Gunbir Singh Sidhu, Manmord Sidhu, and director Amar Hundal, of making an unpardonable act by hiring a Pakistani artiste amid rising India-Pak tensions. “This decision is not a mere creative choice, it is a willful affront to the sovereignty, dignity, and security of India,” reads the letter, as reported by ANI.

FWICE went on to call Hania Aamir a “vocal propagandist against India,” accusing her of mocking Indian armed forces and supporting terrorist actions post-Operation Sindoor. They stated that her inclusion in an Indian film “insults every martyr and every Indian affected by cross-border terrorism.”
The organisation said that the choice to cast Hania proves “where their loyalties lie.” They urged the government to revoke the passports of Diljit and the other film members immediately and bar them from using any rights or privileges linked to Indian citizenship.
They also requested a total ban on the film’s release in India, and demanded the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) deny any clearance for screening the film in the country. This controversy arrives in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, and India’s Operation Sindoor air strikes on May 7. Since then, several Pakistani celebrities’ social media profiles, including Hania’s, have been made unavailable in India.

Meanwhile, Sardaar Ji 3 is set to release only overseas on June 27, as confirmed by Diljit in an Instagram post, “Sardaar Ji 3 releasing 27th June OVERSEAS only. FADH LAO BHOOND DIAN LATTAN.”
The film, a horror-comedy sequel, will not be screened in India amid ongoing political tension and the backlash surrounding the project’s cast.
