Blackpink’s Jisoo Teams Up With Zayn Malik For Catchy New Single “Eyes Closed”
Jisoo and Zayn Malik joined forces for a new duet, “Eyes Closed.”
The single, released today via Warner Records, is a bit of a departure from Jisoo’s previous solo releases, featuring a prominent use of acoustic guitar throughout. It also marks the first official English-language single for the 30-year-old K-pop star and actor; she released a special video for her English-language B-side “Your Love” over the summer.
In the “Eyes Closed” music video, Jisoo and Malik find themselves in space, belting out and singing with each other in a spaceship. “We should fall in love with our eyes closed / Better if we keep it where we don’t know / The beds we been in, the names and the faces of who we were with,” the pair sing together in the song’s chorus. The single also marks a global girl group and boy band mashup, with Jisoo being a member of the biggest girl group in the world, Blackpink, and Malik being a former member of the record-breaking boy band, One Direction.
Jisoo is in the midst of Blackpink’s Deadline world tour, which kicked off with the release of the four-member outfit’s first group song in nearly three years, “Jump.” Malik, meanwhile, is preparing for a Las Vegas residency at the top of 2026.
The “Earthquake” singer found her solo home in Warner Records earlier this year, which included her debut solo EP, Amortage, released in February. Jisoo’s fellow Blackpink group members – Jennie, Lisa and Rosé — are all signed to different labels as solo artists but remain with their Korean label, YG Entertainment, as a group. Jisoo, who has been pursing a career in acting alongside her solo career, is slated to star in an upcoming Netflix K-Drama, Boyfriend on Demand, a romantic-drama series about an overworked young woman who turns to a virtual reality dating program to find an escape.
Earlier this week, it was announced that Malik and his fellow former One Direction bandmate, Louis Tomlinson, would be reuniting for a Netflix road trip series. The 3-part documentary series will follow the two singers as they reconnect during American travels.
