Sunny Sanskari… box office Day 4: Varun-Janhvi’s film steady in 1st weekend

‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ performed decently in its opening weekend at the box office. Interestingly, the film recorded a steady Saturday and Sunday, collecting Rs 7.75 crore on both days.

  • Thursday: Rs 9.25 crore
  • Friday: Rs 5.5 crore
  • Saturday: Rs 7.5 crore
  • Sunday: Rs 7.75 crore
  • Total: Rs 30 crore

The Shashank Khaitan-directorial opened at Rs 9.25 crore amid mixed reviews. The film then saw a significant drop on Friday, collecting Rs 5.5 crore. However, Saturday showed slight growth, which remained intact on Sunday as well.

While the opening weekend showed a decent performance, Monday would be a crucial day for the film in determining its long run at the box office. There is no big Hindi release to challenge the run of ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’. However, the increasing excitement for ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ in the northern market could hamper the second weekend.

The film, also starring Maniesh Paul, Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra in important roles, looks glamorous. The songs of the film are already topping the charts and the audience seems to be simply exploring it for a feel-good experience.
