Raj Kundra Questioned for Five Hours in Rs 60 Crores Fraud Case

Further, he was investigated on his expense of Rs 3.15 crores on a warehouse. Moreover, his broadcast expenses of Rs 20 crores were also questioned. The payments he made for his rented space in Matunga were also questioned. Even, his payment of Rs 4 crores as “salary” to a celebrity was also asked about. He has also been asked to provide details on making a payment to Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms. Many reports also suggest that Kundra might be summoned again.
Shilpa and Raj were recently accused of cheating a businessman of Rs 60.4 crores in a loan and investment deal through their defunct company Best Deal TV Private Limited. The complainant, Deepak Kothari, alleged that he invested the amount between 2015 and 2023 to expand the business. But his money has allegedly been misused for personal expenses. The case is now being thoroughly investigated. However, the couple’s lawyer has denied the allegations.

Advocate Prashant Patil had noted, “This is an old transaction, wherein the company went into financial distress and eventually got entangled in a long legal battle at the NCLT. There is no criminality involved, and our auditors have submitted all the necessary supporting documents from time to time, as requested by the EOW, including detailed cash flow statements.”
