The Conjuring: Last Rites’ Spoilers Trigger Fight in Pune Theatre, Two Assaulted

The Conjuring: Last Rites has been garnering rave reviews and progressing towards a brilliant box office collection. In India, the movie minted over Rs 60 crores during its opening weekend alone. It is clearly the highest for any horror movie shown in the country. While moviegoers have mostly come out satisfied from the theatres, one incident in Pune has shocked everyone. A bunch of spoilers from one individual during a screening of the movie led to an ugly brawl.

A man was allegedly got assaulted as he objected to hearing the spoilers being given by another man inside the hall. As per reports from PTI, a 29-year-old software professional and his wife were all assaulted inside a film theatre in Pimpri Chinchwad in Pune.

The couple had gone to watch the movie at a multiplex. As per the cops, the accused individual and his wife were seated in the back row. The man kept blurting out spoilers while narrating the story aloud to the wife. The complainant had asked him to not spoil the suspense. The same allegedly did not sit right with the accused, who then reportedly abused and attacked the complainant. The complainant’s wife intervened but was allegedly subjected to assault as well.

A police complaint has been filed where the complainant alleged that he has received minor injuries. A case has been registered at Chinchwad police station under BNS sections 117 (abetting offence in public), 115 (abetment), 352 (assault) and relevant provisions. Latest update states that the police have made no arrests in the case so far.
