Param Sundari Box Office Day 2: Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s Film Holds Steady

Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s latest film Param Sundari is showing steady momentum at the box office after its release on August 29. Despite mixed reviews, the romantic comedy is drawing audiences mainly for its fresh pairing and vibrant soundtrack.

The film opened with a decent Rs 7.25 crore on Friday, registering Sidharth’s fifth-highest opening in his career. On its first Saturday, Param Sundari saw a healthy jump, adding Rs 9.22 crore to its earnings. With this, the film’s two-day domestic total stands at Rs 16.47 crore.

This performance has already pushed Param Sundari ahead of Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Rakul Preet Singh’s rom-com Mere Husband Ki Biwi, which wrapped up its run at Rs 12.85 crore. However, the film still has a long way to go when compared to Bollywood’s bigger blockbusters. For instance, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s Chennai Express had collected Rs 28.05 crore on its second day alone.

Directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Param Sundari follows Param (Sidharth), a Delhi boy who turns to an AI-powered app to find love. His search leads him to Sundari (Janhvi), a spirited girl from Kerala. The quirky premise aims to blend technology with traditional romance, but critics have pointed out flaws in the screenplay and pacing.

Nevertheless, Sidharth and Janhvi’s on-screen chemistry has received wide appreciation, with fans calling their pairing “refreshing” and “endearing.” The film’s music album, featuring peppy tracks, has also become a major draw, especially among younger audiences.

Whether Param Sundari can sustain its momentum depends on the coming weekdays. The film will also face competition from upcoming big-ticket releases next week, making the Sunday collection crucial for its box office run.

For now, Param Sundari continues to enjoy a steady start, thanks to the star power of Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor. If the positive word-of-mouth around their chemistry keeps growing, the film could end its first weekend on a strong note.
