Crew Member of Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan Film Assaulted, Accused Arrested
The shooting for Pati, Patni aur Woh 2 is currently underway, with Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan leading the cast. However, a crew member working on the film was allegedly assaulted by local residents in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The incident led to the arrest of the primary suspect and the filing of an FIR, according to police officials.
The reported assault took place on August 27 on Thornhill Road in Prayagraj, where the film’s shooting was in progress. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (City), Abhijeet Kumar, confirmed the details of the altercation. This led to the disruption of the ongoing production, but the makers haven’t opened up about it.
On August 28, BR Chopra Films’ line producer, Saurabh Tiwari, filed a complaint at the Civil Lines Police Station. Following the registration of the FIR, local law enforcement launched an investigation into the matter.
Police later identified and arrested the main accused, an individual named Meraj Ali. The authorities continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the incident, although no further details about the motive or other individuals involved have been released at this time.
The film’s production team has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident. Meanwhile, shooting for Pati, Patni Aur Woh 2 is still underway, with both lead actors actively participating in the schedule. Actress Rakul Preet Singh also travelled to the film’s set to join the cast members for the shoot. Further details about the incident are awaited as the makers haven’t shared a statement yet.
