37 Years of Salman Khan in Bollywood: Actor Shares Secrets to Building a Powerful Name – Exclusive
Salman Khan is celebrating 37 years in the movies. The actor made his debut with the 1988 movie Biwi Ho To Aisi. He then starred in a leading role in the 1989 movie Maine Pyar Kiya. During an old interview with Filmfare, when asked about being brand Salman Khan, the actor noted that he doesn’t actively think about building a name, however, his work happens to do it for him. “I really don’t know Iska kya jawab doon main aapko (what answer can I give you)! I don’t think about these things. From grandchildren to grandparents, I guess, they all connect with me. Perhaps, it’s also got to do with the films I’ve done. I’ve done family films,” he said.
Adding more, Salman shared that the negativity spread in his name has made people understand his side of the story as well. “When things are written against you over and over again, somewhere, people begin to feel it’s too much. That automatically changes opinion in your favour,” the star shared.
But was his success solely his doing? Salman believes otherwise. “There are a lot of factors that have helped me grow as a person. My immediate family, my friends… School mein kaafi pita hoon main, ghar mein bhi (I’ve been spanked a lot in school and at home). That also helped. Basically, the life that I’ve led, be it at home, in school, in boarding school, the friends that I’ve had – all this has added to my growth. I always hung out with people older than me and correct people. I learnt a lot from them,” the actor concluded.
On the professional front, Salman’s last release was Sikandar. He is currently preparing for his upcoming movie, Battle of Galwan. The first poster of the movie shows Salman in an intense avatar. The film will also star Chitrangda Singh in a leading role.
