Prithviraj Sukumaran Expresses Excitement Over Working With Kareena Kapoor Khan in Daayra
Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran will be collaborating for the first time in Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming film Daayra. During a recent interview, Sukumaran spoke about the film and said he is excited about it. The Sarzameen actor praised Meghna and lauded the script. He also shared that his excitement mostly stems from the fact that Kareena is starring opposite him.
Prithviraj told Zoom, “Daayra is a script I am very excited about. I think Meghna has got a wonderful film on paper. Given her skill and craft as a filmmaker, I am really counting on that being a cracker of a feature film. Most of all, the excitement is palpable for me because Kareena is doing the other character. And the film is very much about these two characters.”
The actor continued, “It’s just one of those scripts you read and you just can’t let go. I am so thankful that Meghna thought of me for that role. I am really looking forward to that film going on floors.” Meghna Gulzar announced Daayra in April this year. The filmmaker known for hits such as Raazi and Talvar reunited with Junglee Pictures for the third time for this film. It is touted to be a gripping crime drama. Daayra taps into the pulse of the people as it confronts the topical and diabolical realities unfolding in society today. It explores the age-old paradox of crime, punishment, and justice. Yash Keswani and Sima Agarwal have co-written the film with Meghna. The release date is yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, Prithviraj Sukumaran was most recently seen in Sarzameen with Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan. The OTT film marked the directorial debut of Boman Irani’s son Kayoze Irani. Up next, he will be seen in Vilayath Buddha, Nobody and Santhosh Trophy.
