Over 100, including children, hospitalised due to food poisoning on Dhurandhar set

More than 100 people from the crew of Aditya Dhar’s upcoming film ‘Dhurandhar’ were hospitalised in Leh after suffering from food poisoning, causing panic on the set. The incident unfolded when several workers reportedly suffered severe abdominal pain, vomiting, and headaches, prompting an urgent response to get them medical attention at the Sajal Narbu Memorial (SNM) Hospital.

According to sources, several children were among those admitted. None of the cases were reported to be serious, and most of the affected were discharged by Monday.

A senior doctor at the hospital, speaking to IANS, noted that the situation was efficiently managed, stating, “We managed the patient rush effectively. The police also stepped in to regulate the overcrowded emergency ward and prevent panic.”

The Food Safety Department has collected samples for testing to determine the cause of the contamination. While around 600 people are currently part of the film’s shoot, the affected food was reportedly consumed by only a section of the crew, most of whom fell sick.

Director Aditya Dhar is said to be personally monitoring the situation. Sources told India Today that Dhar has been ensuring the crew members receive the best possible medical care.
