Amit Sial Joins Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana As Sugriv ?

Since Nitesh Tiwari announced his ambitious project, Ramayana, it has made way for talks about its impressive cast and remarkable visual effects. Now, it has been exclusively reported by Hindustan Times that Amit Sial has joined the cast and will be playing the role of Sugriv. In Hindu mythology, Sugriv, the younger brother of Bali, was a monkey king who played an important role in helping Lord Rama’s mission to rescue Sita from the demon king Ravana.

An insider close to the project revealed, “Amit has shot a few portions of the film, and he will be seen playing a Hindu epic mythological character Sugriv. The actor and the director Nitesh will be working on his appearance to have authenticity to his narrative. Amit is nearly at the completion of his part in the first edition of the film.” Amit Sial was last seen in Raid 2 wherein his portrayal of Lallan Sudheer in Raid 2 earned him critical acclaim and praise.

Earlier, an update indicated that Amitabh Bachchan would be an essential part of the grand production, serving not only as a character but also as its narrator. A Mid-Day report cited a source which said, “We’re exploring the idea of having Bachchan as the sutradhar. His voice adds gravitas that no one else can match. The makers are keen that the film opens with his voice. It’s still at the discussion stage. While the clash is a concern, there will be ways to work it out on a creative level. Having him open the film and be the spiritual narrator will have a strong impact.”
