Dan Levy’s Netflix Comedy Gets Title ‘Big Mistakes,’ Rounds Out Cast

A Netflix comedy series starring and co-created by Dan Levy has filled out its cast and begun filming in New Jersey. It also has a title.

The show, about two “deeply incapable” siblings who are blackmailed into the world of organized crime, will be called Big Mistakes. Schitt’s Creek Emmy winner Levy and Rachel Sennott (Bottoms) co-created the series, and Levy is the showrunner (Sennott, meanwhile, is also starring in an HBO comedy series she created).

Levy and Taylor Ortega (Ghosts, Welcome to Flatch) will play the siblings at the center of the show, and Laurie Metcalf also stars. Joining the cast as series regulars are Jack Innanen (FX’s Adults), Boran Kuzum and Abby Quinn (Knock at the Cabin), while Elizabeth Perkins, Jacob Gutierrez, Joe Barbara, Josh Fadem and Mark Ivanir will have recurring roles.

Big Mistakes is the first series from Levy under his overall TV deal with Netflix (he also has a first-look film deal at the streamer that yielded the 2023 movie Good Grief). Netflix formally ordered the show in May as part of a batch of pickups at the upfronts.

Levy is the showrunner of Big Mistakes and executive produces via his Not a Real Production Company. Sennott and Not a Real Production’s Anne-Marie McGintee also executive produce.
