Shekhar Kapur: “I Never Saw Any Mental Illness in Sushant Singh Rajput” – Exclusive

Sharing more about interacting with Sushant during the shoot, Shekhar said, “All of us carry a certain amount of angst. Creatively, we all a certain amount of angst in us. In Sushant, I never saw any mental illness.” Shekhar further shared that Sushant was diligent in his approach to acting. The late actor would rehearse time and again and make sure his performance was up-to-the-mark on screen. “He was obsessive about doing everything well, whether it was exercising or rehearsals. Some time, I’ll show you his rehearsals for Paani. He was obsessive about it. He would call me. He would come to my house at night and say ‘how do you think I did that?'” Shekhar recalled.

In another interview, Shekhar Kapur had also shared that Sushant had cried when he realised Paani was shelved. He also opened up about crying with the actor as the two of them were attached to the movie. “Jab film bandh ho gayi and he realised he wasn’t doing the film, bohot roya woh. Main bhi roya. Woh rota tha toh main bhi rota tha saath-saath because I was also passionately and deeply involved with it. Humari zindagiyaan hi kuch aisi hoti hai – ups and downs,” he added.
