Piloo Vidyarthi Reveals Her Scenes Were Removed From Sarzameen, Says Ibrahim Ali Khan Needs Depth

Sarzameen actor Piloo Vidyarthi recently opened up about her shortened role in the film and spoke about Ibrahim AliKhan’s performance. The film marked the directorial debut of Kayoze Irani and also starred Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran in key roles. Vidyarthi, who was also a part of the action thriller, expressed her disappointment over how a lot of her scenes were edited out.

During a conversation with News18, she shared, “Beech mein main phas gayi hoon, na Sar hain na Zameen hain (I’m stuck in the middle, there’s neither heads nor tails). They didn’t retain even 20 per cent of what was shot. I was disappointed, so I’m not promoting the film as well. Yes, we can talk about it since it was released, but I wasn’t used at all. These things happen in our journey, so that’s okay. But yes, it’s disappointing when you prepare for a role and it’s reduced to nothing. As actors, especially in supporting roles, we don’t always have the right to question such decisions.”
The actress shot extensively in Manali, followed by a schedule in Mumbai. She played a nanny-like figure in the film, but when she watched the final cut, she realised that her entire storyline had been removed. She also claimed that the director struggled to piece together the narrative.

Piloo Vidyarthi also commented on Ibrahim’s acting and said that he lacks depth. “Acting depends on your life experiences—how you have lived your life. He was very nice to me, clicked photos. But I think he needs to have some depth. Star kids are also under a lot of pressure to live up to their parents. And Ibrahim comes from a family of big achievers. They have seen attention since forever. No one is bad.”
