Mahavatar Narsimha Continues Its Strong Run at The Box Office
Ashwin Kumar’s Mahavatar Narsimha is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office. Despite big titles like Saiyaara, Son of Sardaar 2, Dhadak 2 and The Fantastic Four First Steps also running in theatres, this mythological animated film is leading the pack. Thanks to strong word-of-mouth and social media chatter, it continues to pull crowds. On its second Wednesday alone, the film added another 6 crore, taking its total collection in India to a staggering 112.8 crore in just 12 days, as per early reports by Sacnilk.

The film’s performance throughout the day shows how well it’s connecting with audiences. On August 6, it clocked 13.64 percent occupancy in Hindi, with the numbers steadily rising from morning to night. While morning shows had around 7 percent, the night shows went up to almost 21 percent, clearly showing that the buzz around it is still going strong. With this, Mahavatar Narsimha has become the first ever Indian animated film to cross the 100 crore mark, a major milestone not just for the film, but for Indian animation as a whole.
It’s also worth noting that the film has now outperformed international animated blockbusters like Spider Man Into the Spider Verse, The Incredibles and Kung Fu Panda at the Indian box office. Released in five languages, Mahavatar Narsimha has reached audiences across the country, blending mythology with striking animation to offer something fresh and meaningful. Its success proves that Indian stories, when told well, can easily find a place in the hearts of viewers.
Directed by Ashwin Kumar and backed by Hombale Films and Kleem Productions, the film was written by Jayapurna Das and Rudra Pratap Ghosh. This is just the beginning of a much bigger vision. Mahavatar Narsimha is the first film in a massive animated franchise based on the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu. The journey continues with Mahavatar Parshuram in 2027, followed by Mahavatar Raghunandan, Mahavatar Dhawkadhesh, Mahavatar Gokulananda and the two-part Mahavatar Kalki set to release by 2037.
