“My Heart Is There With My Son”- Viineet Kumar Siingh on Balancing Work and Fatherhood | Exclusive
The year 2025 so far has been quite fruitful for Viineet Kumar Siingh. It started with the roaring success of his film Chhaava. Then the actor earned appreciation for The Superboys of Malegaon. Jaat saw him play a menacing character, where he once again proved his calibre. His recent release, Rangeen, sees him play the role of a gigolo, something he has not explored before. And to top it all, he welcomed his firstborn just five days ago. In an exclusive conversation with Filmfare, he reflected on the last six months and called it God’s screenplay.
Viineet shared, “It’s been an incredible year. Things are falling into place on their own. I’ve always worked this way. I used to think a lot earlier. But past experiences have taught me to do my work and move on, and focus on the next thing. Do your work with sincerity because there’s no point in thinking about things that aren’t in your control. I keep my head down and just focus on the work.” He continued, “I didn’t know all of this would release the way it did. So much has aligned by itself. This is God’s screenplay. Why it’s all happening, I don’t know. What I do know is that I want to do good work and take on bigger responsibilities. But how that’ll happen, or what will come next, I don’t spend too much time thinking about it.”

Viineet stated that he can’t wait to go back home and hold his son, but certain commitments need to be fulfilled. Asked whether he is feeling ‘fomo’ as he is away from his son right now, he answered, “Of course, I feel it. He’s just five days old. Five days and a few hours. That thought keeps popping into my head. My heart is there with him. But when you’ve made a commitment, you have to stand by it. I’ve wandered in search of work for such a long time that now, for me, work is worship. When work comes my way, I don’t worry about things like whether I get a bed to sleep on. I just focus on whether I’m fulfilling my responsibilities. If I have to stay up all night with my baby, I will. If I have to work the next morning, I’ll do that too. That’s just my temperament. If I’ve made a commitment, I’ll deliver on it.”
But after fulfilling his prior work commitments, Viineet plans to take a paternity leave. “I’m not giving out any new dates right now. These current commitments were already made, so I can’t back out of them. But after this, I’ll go home and spend time with my son.” Meanwhile, Viineet’s most recent show, Rangeen, is produced by Kabir Khan and written by Amardeep Galsin and Amir Rizvi. It also stars Rajshri Deshpande and Taaruk Raina, among others. The show is streaming on Prime Video.
