Kajol, Sonam Kapoor & More Wish Dhanush a Happy Birthday

Today marks the birthday of Dhanush, and heartfelt wishes have poured in from several well-known celebrities, celebrating the versatile actor-director’s special day.
Kajol, who previously shared screen space with Dhanush in the Tamil film VIP 2, was among the first to send her love. Posting on social media, she wrote, “Happy birthday to the ever-cool and quietly brilliant Dhanush!” Their earlier collaboration earned praise from both, with Dhanush expressing admiration for Kajol’s infectious energy on the set.

Sonam Kapoor, who starred with Dhanush in the Hindi romantic drama Raanjhanaa, also posted, “Wish you a very happy birthday, Dhanush sir!” Their bond from that project has continued to be fondly remembered by fans and colleagues.

Anand L Rai, director of Raanjhanaa, shared a touching picture of him hugging Dhanush, captioning,  “Meri har mann maani bas tum tak… Mere sukh dukh aate jaate yaar tum tak!!! I never thought these lines would reflect my feelings for you. Love you always. Happy birthday mere bhai.”

G.V. Prakash Kumar, the music composer who has closely collaborated with Dhanush in his directorial ventures like Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam and now Idly Kadai, also joined the chorus. He wished Dhanush on social media and created buzz with their viral jam session ahead of Idly Kadai’s first single release, hinting at more musical magic to come.

On the work front, Dhanush is currently wrapping up shooting his fourth directorial Idly Kadai, set for a Diwali 2025 release. The ensemble cast includes Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Shalini Pandey, Prakash Raj, and Sathyaraj, backed by Wunderbar Films and Dawn Pictures. A recent viral jam video with G.V. Prakash and the hit debut single Enna Sugam have raised excitement levels amid the film’s music launch.
Dhanush is also set to portray A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in the forthcoming biopic Kalam: The Missile Man of India, directed by Om Raut and inspired by Kalam’s memoir Wings of Fire. The film was officially announced at Cannes 2025 and is produced by T‑Series and Abhishek Agarwal Arts.

With these deserving birthday wishes from friends and collaborators, and a slate of ambitious projects on the horizon, 2025 could be a landmark year for Dhanush, both in front of and behind the camera.
