On her Instagram Story, Alia Bhatt shared the trailer of War 2 and wrote, “Mazedaaaaaaaaaar”, followed by “See you on the 14th in a cinema near meee”. At first glance, it seemed like the Gangubai Kathiawadi star was simply excited about watching the film. However, things took a turn when fans noticed she had tagged not only the lead stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, but also Ayan Mukerji, who is directing War 2.
That’s all it took for social media to erupt in theories about Alia Bhatt’s involvement in the film. According to an India Today report, Alia Bhatt and Sharvari are both set to appear in a post-credits scene in War 2, which will tease the upcoming film Alpha. A source told the outlet, “It’s short, yes, but it has tension, mystery, and a hint of what these two women are capable of. It’s not just a cameo — it’s a setup.”
The insider also revealed that the shoot was done under tight security, with only a handful of crew members present to avoid leaks. This secrecy has only heightened fan excitement, especially now that Alia Bhatt’s Instagram story seems to subtly confirm the speculation.
In Alpha, scheduled for a Christmas 2025 release, Alia Bhatt and Sharvari will play lead roles. The film will also feature Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and a special cameo by Hrithik Roshan, effectively linking it to the YRF Spy Universe.
Meanwhile, War 2 is all set to hit theatres on August 14, 2025, just ahead of Independence Day. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film features Hrithik Roshan reprising his role as Kabir, alongside Jr NTR and Kiara Advani in pivotal roles.
