Prithviraj Sukumaran Can’t Stop Praising Ibrahim Ali Khan’s Performance in Sarzameen
Prithviraj Sukumaran thinks Ibrahim Ali Khan‘s film Sarzameen would’ve been a more impactful debut than Nadaaniyan. He praised Ibrahim’s dedication and growth, saying the role in Sarzameen was unconventional and would’ve been a stronger start for the newcomer. Sarzameen is a patriotic thriller where Ibrahim plays a complex character, a change from his romantic role in Nadaaniyan. The film, directed by Kayoze Irani, features Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kajol, and Ibrahim Ali Khan, and released on JioHotstar today.
Regarding his experience working with Ibrahim, Prithviraj mentioned that, while the film is being released after Nadaaniyan, Sarzameen was, in fact, Ibrahim’s first project. He said that he had the privilege of observing Ibrahim’s journey from the very beginning and appreciated the young actor’s commitment, describing his efforts as “humongous.” Also, Prithviraj expressed that he genuinely appreciated Ibrahim’s performance, not just as a fellow actor or for promotional purposes, but from an unbiased perspective.

Prithviraj praised Ibrahim Ali Khan’s hard work on Sarzameen‘s last shoot day, advising him to stay grounded and committed. He advised him that success doesn’t make things easier and consistent effort is important. Prithviraj also acknowledged Ibrahim’s privileged background but appreciated his serious approach to opportunities.
Lastly, Prithviraj expressed his appreciation for director Kayoze Irani‘s ability to bring out a different performance from Ibrahim Ali Khan, highlighting the director’s skill in connecting with the actor’s personality and emotional range. He found the script interesting, remembering that when he first read it, the cast, including Ibrahim and Kajol, had not yet been finalized. Over the course of two years, the cast was assembled. Prithviraj was specifically impressed with Sarzameen’s unique approach to Ibrahim’s debut, a choice he believed would have made for a more impactful introduction had it released before Nadaaniyan.
Sarzameen is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Star Studios, with Marijke D’Souza and Somen Mishra as co-producers. The story and screenplay are by Soumil Shukla and Arun Singh, and the dialogues are by Kausar Munir and Jehan Handa. The film, directed by Kayoze Irani, features Ibrahim Ali Khan, Kajol, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in leading roles.
