Janhvi Kapoor Demands Strict Action on Kalyan Assault Incident

Janhvi Kapoor has spoken out against a shocking incident in Kalyan, Maharashtra, where a man brutally assaulted a female hospital receptionist.

A viral video from a private clinic, Shri Bal Chikitsalaya, shows the accused, Gokul Jha, attacking Sonali Pradeep Kalasare, a 25-year-old receptionist, after she denied him entry to a doctor’s cabin as he had no appointment. Despite efforts by bystanders to stop him, Jha is seen kicking the woman, dragging her by the hair, and slamming her to the ground.

Reacting to the disturbing footage, Janhvi Kapoor took to social media to express her outrage. In a strongly worded statement, she wrote, “This man needs to be in jail. Why does anyone think this behavior is ok? What makes him think he can raise his hand at someone like this? What kind of upbringing convinces you to go through with these actions without any remorse, guilt or sense of humanity?  Shame on us for not punishing and condoning such behavior more aggressively. Nothing excuses this.”

The assault occurred when the doctor was in a meeting and had specifically instructed the receptionist not to allow anyone inside. According to police, the accused, who was reportedly intoxicated, became violent after being asked to wait.

A case has been registered based on the victim’s complaint. A police official stated: “We have filed an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita for assault, using obscene language, and outraging the modesty of a woman.” Assistant Commissioner of Police Suhas Hemade added that efforts are underway to locate and arrest the accused.

The incident has sparked widespread anger and concern about the safety of women in public and workplace environments. Many on social media echoed Janhvi’s sentiments, calling for urgent and strict action against the accused.
