“Shah Rukh Khan Said He’s The Last Superstar, I Think He Was Right” – Anupam Kher
Anupam Kher once again wore the hat of a director for his recently released film, Tanvi The Great. During one of the promotional interviews for the film, the veteran actor recalled Bollywood’s golden days and took a trip down memory lane.

Talking to Siddharth Kanan, he recalled the days when relationships were built genuinely and actors did not have vanity vans or mobile phones. The actor shared, “Humare rishte bane hai. Na humare pass vanity van hoti thi, na mobile, humare pass rishte hote thee (We built our relationships. We didn’t have vanity vans or mobile phones. We had real bonds.”
He then referred to an episode of his old talk show where Shah Rukh Khan said, “I am the last of the stars.” Kher agreed with the statement and said, “On my show, Shah Rukh Khan said, ‘I am the last superstar’ and I think what he said was right. Their stardom is timeless. Mr. Bachchan, especially, is a shining example of someone who faced tough times and rose again, like a true giant.”

Meanwhile, Tanvi The Great marks Anupam Kher’s second directorial venture after Om Jai Jagadish in 2002. Besides directing it, he also starred in the film in a key role. When the trailer was released, many celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan, praised it.
The story follows 21-year-old Tanvi Raina, a young woman with autism who discovers her late father’s unfulfilled dream. To stand at Siachen, the world’s highest battlefield, and salute the Indian flag. Her father, an Indian Army officer, passed away without ever completing that mission. Determined to honour him, Tanvi sets out on a journey to do what no one expects of her, facing resistance from both society and the system that doubts her abilities because of her condition.
The film introduces newcomer Shubhangi Dutta and also stars Jackie Shroff, Boman Irani, Pallavi Joshi, Iain Glen and Karan Tacker in key roles. Tanvi The Great released in theatres on July 18.
