Exclusive: When Priyanka Chopra Jonas Called Heartbreak a Bitch
Priyanka Chopra Jonas is a force to be reckoned with. After making her mark in Bollywood, the actress tried her luck in Hollywood and is now churning out one remarkable project after another. She is settled in LA with her singer-actor husband Nick Jonas and their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. During one of her exclusive chats with Filmfare, Priyanka opened up about her love life, relationships and heartbreaks.
Before her marriage to Nick, she told us that she had wanted to get married ever since she was 12 and would dress up as a bride in fancy dress competitions in school. Priyanka said, “I loved being a dulhania with my dupatta on my head. My life’s dream was ki shaadi pe jewellery banege, kapde banengey, taam jhaam hoga, the family will be dancing and singing together. I come from a family with middle-class values. Having said that, marriage does not make or break me. My parents have told me that whoever you get married to must appreciate what you’ve achieved and the sacrifices you’ve made to be where you are. He must respect you. Maybe that guy will come. Who knows!”
At the time of the interview, Priyanka, who was single, also spoke about heartbreaks. She said, “It’s always a bitch, it’s always horrible, it’s always painful, and it will always be painful for everyone. But you must realise what you want for yourself. I’ve set high standards for myself. And I don’t like to settle for anything in any aspect of my life, personal or professional.”
However, she shared that she believes in love and is romantic by nature. “I’m a major believer in love. Call me a romantic; maybe because I’m a Cancerian, I’m stupid and emotional. But every relationship is different. Youcan’t take the baggage of one relationship to another.”
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas tied the knot in December 2018. They welcomed their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas on January 22 via surrogacy.
