CBFC cuts 10 seconds of intimate scenes from Ahaan Panday’s Saiyaara

Mohit Suri’s upcoming romantic drama Saiyaara has made headlines just before its release. Starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the film is set to release on July 18. But before it reaches audiences, it went through some changes suggested by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

The CBFC has given Saiyaara a U/A 16+ certificate, meaning viewers under 16 can watch it with parental guidance. However, the board also asked the makers to remove certain scenes and change some dialogues. According to reports, around 10 seconds of “sensual, intimate, and body exposure visuals” were cut from the final version. Along with this, four cuss words were edited and replaced with more suitable alternatives.

The board also added a new rule stating that any scenes showing two-wheeler rides must now display a static warning about wearing helmets. This is part of the CBFC’s efforts to promote safe behaviour through films, especially those watched by younger audiences. Even with these changes, Saiyaara continues to generate strong interest. Its trailer has been well received, and advance ticket bookings have opened to a great response. The movie now has a final runtime of 2 hours, 36 minutes, and 50 seconds.
Directed by Mohit Suri, known for emotional love stories and strong music, Saiyaara is expected to carry a similar tone. While some bold scenes have been trimmed, fans believe the heart of the film remains untouched. Ahaan Panday, making his big-screen debut, has already gained attention for his confident screen presence. His co-star, Aneet Padda, is also being praised for her freshness and charm.

As the release date approaches, fans and industry experts are watching closely. Will the edits affect the story or will Saiyaara still connect with audiences through its music, emotion, and performances. We’ll know soon enough, but one thing’s clear, this debut film is already making waves.
