Rajkummar Rao’s Maalik Holds Strong Amidst Superman Clash, Crosses Rs 15 Crore Mark

Maalik, starring Rajkummar Rao, Manushi Chillar, and Prosenjit Chatterjee, released in theatres on Friday and received positive reviews. Despite the release of a high-profile international film featuring Superman, it performed well during its first weekend. According to the most recent information from Sacnilk, the Rajkummar Rao film has now surpassed the ₹15 crore mark within its first four days.

According to the latest report, initial estimates indicate that Maalik collected ₹1.34 crore on its fourth day of release. This represents the lowest single-day collection for the film to date, which is perhaps not surprising given that it was a Monday, a day when audience attendance typically decreases. Maalik began with an opening day collection of approximately ₹3.75 crore and experienced some growth over the weekend, collecting ₹5.25 crore on both Saturday and Sunday. The film’s total earnings currently are ₹15.59 crore.

Maalik proved to be more successful than the other Hindi film released that week, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, which features Vikrant Massey and marks Shanaya Kapoor’s Bollywood debut. However, the film is facing tough competition from Superman, starring David Corenswet, which has earned over ₹25 crore in India during its opening weekend, a total that surpasses the combined earnings of the two Bollywood releases.

Therefore, David Corenswet’s Superman has surpassed Henry Cavill’s Man Of Steel to become the highest-grossing solo Superman movie ever. Superman, directed by James Gunn, features David Corenswet in the leading role, with a supporting cast including Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, and Isabela Merced. Also, this film, which marks the beginning of director James Gunn’s new DC Universe stint, has received positive reviews from critics around the globe.
