Kothare, the film received numerous awards. Following the ceremony, Priyanka shared her joy on social media, praising the team’s hard work and commitment. Paani, which was released last year, presented an intense story about a common man’s fight for access to water.
Priyanka shared the proud moment on Instagram, uploading photos of her mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra, and brother, Siddharth Chopra, posing with the Filmfare trophies. She also posted a snapshot of the film’s 18 nominations, celebrating Paani’s success. In a wholesome video recording, she said, “So excited, thank you so much Filmfare. Thank you Adi, thank you so much Rajshri and everyone who worked in this film. Sid, my mom, this was your baby and congratulations on taking home so many black ladies. I love it. Congratulations team #Paani and thank you @filmfare marathi! So proud of all of you who worked tirelessly to make this so special! This is all you!”
Paani won several awards at Filmfare Awards Marathi 2025, including Best Film, Best Film (Critics), Best Lyrics, Best Playback Singer (Male), Best Screenplay, Best Background Score, and Best Debut Director.
Addinath M. Kothare embarked on his directorial journey with Paani, a film showcasing the talents of Rucha Vaidya, Subodh Bhave, Rajit Kapur, Kishor Kadam, Sachin Goswami, Mohanabai, Shripad Joshi, and Vikas Pandurang Patil. The screenplay was crafted by Nitin Dixit, drawing inspiration from a story by Hanumant Kendre.

Paani, a collaborative effort between Priyanka Chopra’s Purple Pebble Pictures, Neha Barjatya, and Rajshri Entertainment, was conceived to shed light on the crucial issue of water conservation. The narrative, set in a village grappling with drought, portrays the hardships endured by a community facing a severe water shortage.
The film premiered at the New York Film Festival and eventually received the Best Film on Environment/Conservation/Preservation award at the 66th National Film Awards in 2019. Also, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, accompanied by her mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra, and brother, Siddharth Chopra, attended a special screening of the film in Mumbai last year.
