Emraan Hashmi’s Gunmaaster G9 Announced With a Fresh Video

Bollywood’s Emraan Hashmi is all set to sizzle on the big screen with Gunmaaster G9, slated to release in cinemas in 2026. Directed by Aditya Datt, the film marks a major reunion with composer Himesh Reshammiya, who previously scored Datt’s hit movies Aashiq Banaya Aapne and Dil Diya Hai.
Producer Deepak Mukut dropped a fiery teaser on social media, captioning,“Doodh to baroodh, Sabzi to Gundas, bullets to beats, Gunmaaster G9 is getting ready for mayhem … the team is locked, loaded and lethal!” The cast is led by Emraan as the eponymous agent G9, alongside Genelia Deshmukh and Aparshakti Khurana. Shakti Khurana has been cast as the main villain; a role wrapped in secrecy. Nothing more has been revealed yet.

Emraan’s character warns in the teaser, “Mujhse mach much kiya to chalega, par family ko touch kiya to yaad rakhna: ‘Doodh wala ho, banda baroodh wala ho.’”

Genelia’s onscreen persona also gets a bold introduction, “Ghar ki bahu is ka matlab yeh nahi ke sirf nirmal aur sheetal ghar pe sabhi aayegi, sabzi kaatungi. Lekin agar ghar pe gunde badmash aaye to sabze thodi kaattungi.” Aparshakti’s character delivers a powerful line, too: “Lohe ke kaathi de Surati, haath mein hai bomb. Gurgaon mein log humse sattar feet door rehta hai, kyunki bomb aur hum kabhi bhi faat sakte hain.”

The film reunites Emraan with music composer Himesh Reshammiya, a partnership that first gained fame in Aditya Datt’s early hit Aashiq Banaya Aapne (2005), which also starred Emraan and featured memorable music by Himesh. Fans will fondly remember this soundtrack and the emotional depth of that film. Another Aditya Datt–Himesh collaboration was Dil Diya Hai (2006), a romantic thriller starring Emraan, with music by Himesh once again. Filming is expected to start post-monsoon, with shoots planned in Mumbai and Uttarakhand. The film is being hyped as a new-age, stylised action drama, offering both style and emotional depth.

Gunmaaster G9 is Genelia Deshmukh’s latest after her profound return in Sitaare Zameen Par with Aamir Khan. That film emerged as one of Bollywood’s biggest success stories, crossing 150 crore Rs domestically and earning praise as a movie with heart. Genelia is also prepping for the upcoming Kannada film Junior and recently credited South Indian cinema for giving her some of her most meaningful roles.
