The film had a modest opening at the box office but gained momentum over the weekend. On its release day (Friday), the film collected approximately Rs 3.5 crore. The numbers saw a boost on Saturday with Rs 6 crore, and climbed further on Sunday to Rs 7.25 crore, benefiting from the weekend footfall.

However, as per early estimates, the first weekday did not work in favour of the film as the movie collected Rs 2.5 crore on day 4. This brings its total collection to Rs 19.25 crore.

Here’s a quick breakdown of its day-wise collections:

Day 1 (Friday): Rs 3.5 crore

Day 2 (Saturday): Rs 6 crore

Day 3 (Sunday): Rs 7.25 crore

Day 4 (Monday): Rs 2.5 crore (early estimates)

Total: Rs 19.25 crore

The film is being called a perfect monsoon romantic entertainer. IndiaToday.in gave four stars to the film in its review. A part of the review read, “The beauty of ‘Metro… In Dino’ lies in its setting. Basu doesn’t just tell stories – he stages emotions. Rain drizzles like a soundtrack. Cities breathe in the background. Love unfurls at a bus stop, on a footpath, under a dim streetlight. The mundanity of these locations is what makes them magical.”
