Aamir Khan to Be The Chief Guest for The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2025
Aamir Khan is all set to visit Melbourne this August as the Chief Guest for the 2025 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. This year, the festival will honour his incredible journey in Indian cinema with a special showcase of his films. One of the biggest highlights will be the screening of his latest releaseSitaare Zameen Par, followed by a live conversation withAamir, directorRS Prasanna and Aparna Purohit from Aamir Khan Films. The session will give fans a closer look into the making of the film and the thought behind it.

Over the last four decades, Aamir has built a reputation for choosing films that go beyond just entertainment. From Taare Zameen Par to Dangal and Lagaan, his stories often carry emotion and meaning. His newest film Sitaare Zameen Par follows a basketball coach who finds a new purpose while mentoring a group of neurodivergent adults during community service. The film has touched many for its gentle, heartfelt storytelling.
Festival Director Mitu Bhowmick Lange AM said, “Aamir Khan is not just a cinematic legend but also someone whose work has always reflected sensitivity, depth, and a fearless commitment to storytelling.” She called his latest film “a beautiful example of inclusive storytelling filled with empathy, joy, and honesty.”

Aamir shared his excitement about being part of the festival and said, “I am humbled and thrilled to be a part of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
