Rajkummar Rao Brings Out His Gangster Side in The Gritty Trailer of Maalik

The makers have released the highly anticipated trailer for Maalik, an intense action film showcasing Rajkummar Rao in an intense and hard-hitting role.

In the trailer, Rajkummar Rao is presented in a never-seen-before avatar as a cold-blooded gangster, with an unpredictable and ruthless side to him. With his rugged look and intense action sequences, Rajkummar stands out in every scene, giving a performance that looks authentic, powerful, and memorable. It is for the first time that the actor will be seen in a full-fledged leading role of a gangster. His look in the trailer has been receiving praise from fans, many saying he’s naturally blended into the role.

Starring Manushi Chhillar as the female lead, who plays Rajkummar’s love interest is also seen essaying an important role in the film.

Also featuring the veteran from Bengali cinema, Prosenjit Chatterjee, his role squares off against Rajkummar Rao’s character and looks to be an interesting point about the plot.

Saurabh Shukla brings a special edge to the trailer with his negative role, and like always, is spot on with his dangerous villain-like aura. We have already witnessed him play the famous, ‘Kallu Mama’ in Satya, one of his most iconic roles ever. Saurabh Sachdeva also appears for a brief moment in a fight sequence with Rajkummar, and his range and acting is something that we can expect to witness. His most notable roles came in Animal, Bambai Meri Jaan, Jaane Jaan and the successful 2018 web-series, Sacred Games.

Maalik also marks Pulkit’s directorial debut, and he shared his excitement about working with such an exciting ensemble cast, each bringing something special on the table with their talent and work.

Produced by Kumar Taurani under the Tips Films banner, along with Jay Shewakramani of Northern Lights Films, Maalik is slated to release in cinemas on  July 11, 2025.
