Tanvi The Great Trailer: Debutant Shubhangini Stars in a Power-packed Story of Hope
After receiving a standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival, Anupam Kher’s Tanvi The Great is all set to release in India. The makers unveiled the trailer of the heartwarming film today. The trailer introduces us to Tanvi, a girl who is different but no less. The titular role is essayed by debutant Shubhangi Dutt. Tanvi is shown as an autistic girl but with eyes full of hopes and dreams. She comes to stay with her grandfather and learn music. However, when she learns of her deceased Indian Army father’s dream to salute the flag at Siachen Glacier, she decides to join the Army and fulfill his dream. Despite barriers facing those with autism in military service, she resolves to complete his mission.
Her grandfather is reluctant to send her to the Army due to her autism and inability to properly take care of herself. But Tanvi is adamant. This forms the emotional crux of the film.
Tanvi The Great is touted to be a powerful story of love, loss, and perseverance. The film is a testament to the unbreakable spirit of hope and triumph. Directed by Anupam Kher, the film stars him along with debutant Shubhangini, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Boman Irani, Pallavi Joshi, Karan Tacker, Nasser and Iain Glen.
Speaking about the film, Kher shared, “Everyone who watches Tanvi The Great will walk away a little kinder perhaps even changed. This film is my tribute to every person who is different but no less. It’s the story of an autistic, brilliant, and fiercely determined girl who dreams of joining the Indian Army. This is one of the most important films of my career, and I’m confident audiences in India will connect with it just as deeply as those around the world already have.”
With a soul-stirring soundtrack by Oscar-winner M. M. Keeravani, Tanvi The Great is produced by Anupam Kher Studios in association with NFDC. Tanvi The Great hits cinemas worldwide on July 18, 2025.
