Ahead of its re-release, the makers of Umrao Jaan hosted a special screening in Mumbai on Thursday night, celebrating the timeless beauty of the film and its legendary lead actress, Rekha. Blending perfectly into the old-world charm of the evening was Alia Bhatt, who made a graceful appearance in a powder pink sari with a structured high neck blouse. The look felt modern yet rooted in vintage elegance, a subtle and respectful nod to Rekha’s iconic presence over the years. Minimal makeup, open hair and statement earrings completed her effortless tribute. Styled by Rhea Kapoor, the look paid a tribute to Rekha’s effortlessly elegant look in Silsila.

Rekha, the star of the night, looked radiant in an ivory and gold outfit, paired with traditional jewellery. A heartwarming moment that stood out was when she planted a gentle kiss on AR Rahman’s cheek. The red carpet also saw the presence of Anil Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Hema Malini, Tabu, Johny Lever, Mira Rajput Kapoor and Asha Bhosle with her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle.
