Diljit Dosanjh Shares a Cryptic Post After Backlash Over Sardaar Ji 3?
Diljit Dosanjh has recently been in the news due to his upcoming movie, Sardaar Ji 3. The movie is a sequel to the first two instalments of the horror-comedy franchise. However, the movie’s release is in jeopardy due to the casting of Pakistan actress Hania Aamir. Now, Diljit has taken to social media to seemingly address the debacle with the release.
He shared a cryptic post about another movie, but fans cannot help but relate it to the current debacle. “Censored before release?” Diljit’s story has been doing rounds on social media and has created quite the stir online. Many are convinced that the actor indirectly shared his response for the current issues he’s facing with Sardaar Ji 3.
However, the post is for Punjab ‘95, a movie on human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. It revolves around extra-judicial killings of Sikh men in the 1990s. As the censor board has asked for 120 cuts in the film, Khalra’s widow, Paramjit Kaur Khalra, had opposed the same. Diljit’s Instagram story is about the battle regarding Punjab ‘95 but it has also stirred serious speculations.
As for Sardaar Ji 3, the latest reports suggest that the movie won’t be releasing in the Indian theatres. It will hit the theatres overseas on June 27, 2025. The criticisms come amid India and Pakistan’s ongoing tensions, related to Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. Hania had also shared a post with alleged anti-India remarks, which had sparked quite the debate. Social media users had also urged Diljit to not work with the Pakistani artiste in Sardaar Ji 3.

Not just Hania, many other Pakistani artistes’ social media accounts have been banned in India. The accounts of Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Mawra Hocane and more have been banned, owing to the tensions between the two neighbouring countries. The release of Fawad and Vaani Kapoor’s film Abir Gulaal has also been pushed indefinitely.
