Sitaare Zameen Par advance booking: Aamir Khan’s film to beat Laal Singh Chaddha
With ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, Aamir Khan is ready to take over the box office like in his pre-‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ days. The film is doing well in its advance booking, and will be keeping a strong front at the ticket window. As per the latest trends, it is also looking at smashing the opening day and pre-sales business of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.
Directed by RS Prasanna, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ has grossed around Rs 3.67 crore (with block seats) on its first day in advance sales. As of 10 am on Monday, the data published by the trade website Sacnilk recorded over 40,533 tickets sold across three languages for 6432 shows.
Interestingly, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ wrapped up its advance booking for Day 1 at around Rs 5.52 crore gross (with blocked seats). ‘SZP’ will have crossed this figure by today to set a better opening day projection for the film.
The 2022 film opened at Rs 11.7 crore at the box office. ‘SZP’ is expected to open in the range of Rs 20-30 crore nett on Friday, registering almost double what ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ collected on its opening day.
If the word-of-mouth is good, the film could also see a growth in spot-bookings for the evening shows on Friday, leading to an even higher number.
‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ features Khan as a sports teacher who teaches neurodivergent children. He is joined by Genelia D’Souza in the film.
