Rahul Dev Reveals The Real Reason Behind Brother Mukul Dev’s Death

Actor Rahul Dev has opened up about the heartbreaking loss of his brother Mukul Dev, who passed away on May 23 in New Delhi. Mukul was a well-known actor from films like Son of Sardaar, Yamla Pagla Deewana, and R… Rajkumar, and also starred in several popular TV shows. After Mukul’s sudden death, many people speculated that he had been battling depression. But Rahul Dev has now cleared the air, saying that the real cause was poor health due to unhealthy eating habits.

In a recent interview, Rahul shared that Mukul had been in the ICU for over eight days, and in his final days, had stopped eating altogether. “Yes, he felt lonely and had lost interest in life,” Rahul admitted, but stressed that the cause was more physical than mental. Rahul revealed that Mukul had moved to Delhi in 2019 to take care of their father, who died later that year. Their mother also passed away in 2023, after which Mukul became even more reclusive. Rahul said his brother missed his daughter deeply and spent his time writing, living alone, and slowly neglecting his health.

Addressing the many rumours that followed Mukul’s death, Rahul expressed his frustration. “People who are now talking about him were not even in touch with him. They didn’t visit him in the hospital or attend his prayer meet,” he said. He also clarified that while Mukul had gained weight, he was still active and had run half-marathons in the past.

Rahul wants people to remember Mukul for who he truly was, a charming, intelligent, and sensitive man. “Not someone who faded away, but someone full of life,” he said. Mukul Dev’s last film, Son of Sardaar 2, is yet to be released. His passing marks a great loss to the Indian film and television industry.
