Diljit Dosanjh’s Sardaar Ji 3 Sparks Row Over Alleged Collaboration With Hania Aamir

Diljit Dosanjh has once again landed in controversy and this time, for his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3. The film was supposed to mark Pakistani actress Hania Aamir’s Bollywood debut. However, after the Pahalgam terrorist attack in April this year, Pakistani artistes were banned in India. Even Fawad Khan, who was going to make his Bollywood comeback with Vaani Kapoor with the Abir Gulaal, had to put the film on the back burner.
Last week, Diljit shared a couple of BTS stills from his film. While Hania was not visible in the photos, there was a girl whom netizens assumed to be Hania. The Punjab singer-actor has also been accused of working with other Pakistani actors like Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar and Saleem Albela.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees president, BN Tiwari, said, “If Diljit Dosanjh or any other artist continues to act like this, an action will not just be taken against their film but against them as well. They will be accused of non-cooperation. We have no place for traitors. The film industry cannot support people who are against this country. We need to stop people who are sitting in India but are helping others. We are getting multiple names. They will be ousted from the industry if they do not work for the betterment of the country.”

FWICE also wrote a letter to the Central Board of Film Certification and urged the board to withhold the certification of Diljit’s film. After the Pahalgam attack, which killed 26 civilians, the Government of India issued an advisory to streaming services, OTT platforms and intermediaries and asked them to discontinue Pakistan-origin content. Pakistani singers and actors who previously collaborated on Indian films had their names and photos removed from the posters. Several celebrities such as Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, Atif Aslam, Mawra Hocane and Sajal Aly’s Instagram handles have also been blocked in India.
