Blackpink’s Jisoo Inks Global Solo Deal With Warner Records Ahead of Debut Solo EP

Jisoo, the eldest member of K-pop sensation Blackpink, has found her solo home at Warner Records, the label announced Tuesday.

The singer and actress has signed a global solo deal with Warner, kicking off the next phase in her career with her upcoming debut solo EP, Amortage. “I feel like I’m just getting started, and I’d like to thank the Blinks [Blackpink fans] for all of their love and support,” Jisoo said in a release. “This is just the beginning and I’m thrilled to kick off this seismic moment with Warner Records.”

Jisoo’s upcoming EP is her “most comprehensive solo work yet,” according to a release, marking the “rebirth of the global superstar.” The album has been described as “leaning into the emotional stages of love.” The album will be the singer’s first EP, having previously released a single album Flower in 2023, prior to departing from Korean music agency YG Entertainment as a soloist.

“There is no question that Jisoo is one of the biggest stars in the world, and we have no doubt that her solo career will be even more impactful. The energy, passion, and artistry Jisoo brings to her music is on another level,” Warner Records CEO and co-chairman Aaron Bay-Schuck said in a release. “Her music transcends cultures and Tom Corson, and I along with the entire team are thrilled to join forces with Jisoo as she continues to make history and inspire millions around the world.”

The “Flower” singer’s deal has her joining her Blackpink group members — Jennie, Lisa and Rosé — in finding new labels as solo artists. In December 2023, it was announced that Blackpink had renewed their exclusive contracts for group activities with YG Entertainment, however, it was later announced that all four members decided to part ways with the label for solo activities. Jennie signed with Columbia Records through a partnership with her record label and entertainment company Oddatelier; Lisa and her entertainment company LLOUD signed a partnership deal with RCA Records; Rosé signed a global solo deal with Atlantic Records.

Jisoo is slated to star in a new K-drama Newtopia, premiering on Prime Video on Feb. 7. A frequenter of fashion weeks, the singer was spotted at the Christian Dior Haute Couture spring-summer 2025 show on Monday. She is a global ambassador for the fashion house.

Amortage is slated for release on Feb. 14.
