Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies gets a nod at Japan Academy Film Prize
Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies have landed a nomination at the Japan Academy Film Prize 2024. It has secured the nomination in Best International Film category. The film was released theatrically in Japan in October last year and successfully ran for 100 days.
The film will be competing with Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things, Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest and Alex Garland’s Civil War.
Laapataa Ladies stars Sparsh Shrivastava, Pratibha Ranta and Nitanshi Goel in key roles alongside Chhaya Kadam and Ravi Kishan. It is directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan and Jyoti Deshpande.
