Rajesh Kumar Opens Up on Satish Shah’s Cause of Death

Veteran actor Satish Shah sadly passed away on October 25, 2025, at the age of 74. While his family hasn’t revealed his cause of death, many reports stated that the actor died due to kidney failure. Now, his onscreen son and fellow actor from the show Sarabhai vs Sarabhai has clarified his cause of death.

While speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Rajesh Kumar, who played Rosesh Sarabhai said, “I can’t tell you how emotional these last 24-25 hours have been. It’s very difficult to even express it. But I do want to clarify a few things about Satishji’s passing… Yes, he did have a kidney issue, but he actually passed away due to a heart attack.”

He further added, “He was at home, having lunch, and then he just… passed away. I wanted to clarify this because some reports are saying it was due to kidney problems. The kidney issue had already been dealt with; it was under control. Unfortunately, it was a sudden cardiac arrest that took him away.”

Satish’s manager Ramesh Kadatala had also opened up about the actor’s sudden demise. “Kal lunch karte samaye hua tha. Woh khana khaate khaate ek niwala khaye, phir collapse ho gaye. Kuch half an hour laga ambulance laane mein… hospital jaane par declare kiya doctor ne,” he shared.

Satish Shah’s funeral was attended by Bollywood celebrities like Farah Khan, Johnny Lever, Sonu Nigam and more. His co-actors, including the duo Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah, Rupali Ganguly, Sumeet Raghavan and more were also seen at the funeral and prayer meet. The prayer meet took place on October 27, 2025 at the Jalaram Hall, Juhu. His wife Madhu Shah, who is battling Alzheimer’s illness, was also present.
