Seth Rogen, Kate Berlant Board ‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 2 as Guest Stars
The Studio star Seth Rogen and Kate Berlant have joined the second season of Nobody Wants This , the Netflix romantic comedy series.
The first season of the Emmy-nominated show saw Kristen Bell play Joanne, an agnostic podcast host, who falls for Noah, an unconventional rabbi played by Adam Brody and who had just broken up with a longtime girlfriend. Rogen and Berlant will guest star in the second season set to bow on Oct. 23.
“[Seth] and Kate Berlant’s energy together was a dream,” co-showrunner Jenni Konner told Netflix’s Tudum. “When you get brilliant people to come in, it makes your writing and the show better.”
Bell, Brody, Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons and Jackie Tohn are all returning for season two, along with Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitchcock, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Emily Arlook, Sherry Cola and Shiloh Berman.

Nobody Wants This’ first season ended with questions over Joanne and Noah’s future, especially as she was hesitant to convert to Judaism, despite Noah’s promotion to head rabbi. Recent first look images for the second season show Noah and Joanne still looking cozily in love, and Joanne continuing to podcast with her sister, Morgan (Lupe).
The guest starring characters for Rogen and Berlant are being kept under wraps.
Rogen just saw his The Studio rookie comedy nab 13 awards at the Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony, while Berlant’s latest film, Maddie’s Secret, premiered earlier this month at the Toronto Film Festival.
Other guest stars for the second season include Leighton Meester, Miles Fowler, Alex Karpovsky and Arian Moayed. The executive producers for Nobody Wants This include Erin Foster, Steven Levitan, Bell, Sara Foster, Danielle Stokdyk, Jeff Morton, Bruce Eric Kaplan, Konner and Nora Silver. Oly Obst exec produces for 3arts. Kaplan and Konner serve as its showrunners. And 20th Television produces the series.
